Nestled amongst natural sub-topical rainforest, marine protected parks and traditional Australian bushland, Woolgoolga (or as the local's call it - "Woopi") is a delightful seaside village that features award winning cafe's, small boutique stores and various levels of accommodation, ranging from family and pet-friendly accommodation to 4.5 star bed and breakfasts
What can I experience?
Woolgoolga provides residents and tourists alike, with a unique set of options, from relaxing under the trees and swimming at one of our many local beaches, to participating in an adventure activity such as scuba diving, to taking the whole family on a famous Whale watching tour!
Located just a few minutes drive up the headland from the town centre is the famous Whale Watch Headland. The headland provides 360 degree views of the Pacific Ocean, Solitary Islands Marine National Park (the largest marine protected area in New South Wales), nearby mountain ranges, and of course, the famous Humpback whale.
Another of Woolgoolga's major attractions is the iconic Guru Nanak Sikh Temple. The Sikh community is a major feature of Woolgoolga's identity and it is the presence of this sub-culture that has inspired the annual CurryFest - an exciting event that offers an array of food, music and cultural demonstrations!
And if you're in need of a little retail therapy, don't stress. Woolgoolga features a variety of quality boutique stores and holds regular weekend markets, located at Woolgoolga's beachside reserve.
